Freshmen spent their first day in the school roaming the halls and finding their classes on Thursday, Sept. 1.
Orientation is a three hour long, annual program meant to help the new students steadily transition into high school. The program consists of a main orientation in the auditorium and a mock school day, which gives students the opportunity to find their way to their classes.
“I got to know where my classes are, so I won’t mess around looking for them on the first day of school,” incoming freshman Hernand Cano said.
This seemed to help other students find their way as well to prevent them from getting lost and running late. It really helped those students who were lost searching for classes, and it helped make their habits of running late improve.
“Now I know where to go,” incoming freshman Kathryn Young said.
When being asked of she would have been lost if not in attendance at the orientation program, Young replied, “Definitely.”
