The World Religions class had the opportunity to speak to Jumeirah College, a school in the United Arab Emirates, on Nov. 14 as part of the Face to Faith program. The trans Atlantic video conference was held at the First Amendment Center in the Newseum in Washington D.C.

The World Religions class had the opportunity to speak to Jumeirah College, a school in the United Arab Emirates on Nov 14 as part of the Face to Faith program. The trans- Atlantic video conference was held at the First Amendment Center in the Newseum in Washington D.C. The students were joined by Former Prime Minister of Great Britain Tony Blair and Secretary of Education Arne Duncan.

The Blackbox Art Intensive is a new style of performance for the drama department. The comedy is being performed in the Blackbox theatre. Instead of the normal set up, the audience is on stage during the entire play. The play is being performed on May 19, May 20 and May 21.

Different faiths celebrate their traditions and culture

Christmas is a celebration of Jesus’ birth over 2000 years ago. During this holiday season malls, ice skating rinks and homes are decorated with traditional ornaments such as Christmas trees, wreaths and lights.  In the United States, Christmas was declared a federal holiday in 1870.
