The annual Chantilly High School Science fair was held on the night of January 18, 2012. Students of all grades dressed for the event. Projects ranged from the testing of music box resonance to the effects of fresh water on salt water currents.

As junior Christine Questch and her reading buddy sit down to start a writing assignment, she receives a Christmas card and a candy cane as a holiday gift. As a reading buddy, Questch spends half an hour every other Thursday at Navy Elementary interacting with her third-grade buddy.

The newly established English Honor Society inducted 107 students on Nov. 16.

The World Religions class had the opportunity to speak to Jumeirah College, a school in the United Arab Emirates, on Nov. 14 as part of the Face to Faith program. The trans Atlantic video conference was held at the First Amendment Center in the Newseum in Washington D.C.

Good news: washing down chalkboards and dusting out erasers after class are coming to an end. Touchscreen Smartboards populate almost every classroom. The bad news: instead of $60 chalkboards, the county must pay a considerably higher price for these new tools.
