The Purple Tide received third place in Best of Show for newspaper 17+ pages from the National Scholastic Press Association at the JEA NSPA National Scholastic Journalism Convention in Minneapolis, Minn.

Students participate in trans-Atlantic video conference

The World Religions class had the opportunity to speak to Jumeirah College, a school in the United Arab Emirates on Nov 14 as part of the Face to Faith program. The trans- Atlantic video conference was held at the First Amendment Center in the Newseum in Washington D.C. The students were joined by Former Prime Minister of Great Britain Tony Blair and Secretary of Education Arne Duncan.
