As junior Christine Questch and her reading buddy sit down to start a writing assignment, she receives a Christmas card and a candy cane as a holiday gift. As a reading buddy, Questch spends half an hour every other Thursday at Navy Elementary interacting with her third-grade buddy.

Eihausen traveled to Guatemala to help at an overcrowded orphanage while Gardner took a mission trip to Brazil to create a camp for children who live in slums outside city.

The class of 2011’s mission is to complete 11 service projects by the time they graduate. Although this mission was initiated by the senior class, the entire school is urged to participate in at least one event.
